My Wedding Ceremony (2014-12-14)

Cambodian wedding traditionally are comprised of multiple special ceremonies and songs which held in chronological order for a whole day. Actually in ancient wedding ceremony will take time continuously for three days and three nights to celebration, but because of many reasons to be considered such as time, money, etc. However, In the present, it is usually cut off to one single day instead of three.
These are the following ceremonies in order to celebration of our traditional Khmer wedding:

1. Presentation of dowry ceremony:
In the early morning, groom travels to the bride's home accompanied by his family and relatives with trays filled of gifts, fruits, and jewelry as dowry.

2. Ring Exchange Ceremony:

3. Tea ceremony:
In this event both groom and bride are requested to offer tea to their ancestor's spirits. I think this is followed by the Chinese descent Cambodians.

4. Hair cutting ceremony:
To prepare the bride and groom for their life as a married couple, their hair is symbolically cut, representing a fresh start to their new relationship together as husband and wife.
